A Pole New You
Donna is the co-owner of A Pole New You.  Donna has been a certified personal trainer and Jazzercise
instructor.  It has always been her passion to be involved in a fitness environment, helping herself and
others to become fit.  Donna was the Chief Operation Officer of the Department of Energy's fitness
centers, with such responsibilities as planning, designing, building, and choosing all of the equipment
for their state of the art facilities.  She is currently taking classes at the National Massage Therapy
Institute to become a certified massage therapist.  She joined A Pole New You in September 2010 and
loved it.  She became co-owner in February 2011.  She is looking forward to helping others to live healthy
and be happing with their bodies, spirit and mind.  Donna is CPR/AED certified, and attended and will
soon be completing the ACE approved and PFA sanctioned Discoveries Pole Dance Instructor
Certification.
Angela Mari holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology and also works as a neurodiagnostic technician. She
trained under Ballet 106, The Metropolitan Ballet, and the University of Maryland and has taught tap, jazz,
and ballet. She is CPR/AED certified, and attended and will soon complete her ACE approved and PFA
sanctioned Pole Dance Instructor Certification from Discoveries Dance at A Pole New You. She has taken
a workshop from the fabulous Fawnia Dietrich. Angela has been taking classes at A Pole New You since
August 2009, and became an instructor at the studio July 2010.

"I have been dancing for nearly as long as I could walk and thought I'd achieved complete satisfaction in
the main-stream ballet, tap, and jazz; however after attending my first A Pole New You bachelorette party, I
was thrilled to be proven wrong. Once I successfully executed my first Firefly and almost put my party
instructor into cardiac arrest by insisting that I could do an Ally-oop if she'd just let me try (don't tell
Tammy), the rest was history; and there started my passionate love affair with Pole. We finally took our
relationship to the next level when Pole and I moved in together on my 24th birthday. I've never looked
back since."
Spanky holds a B.S. in Forestry and Wildlife and an M.S. in Geographic and Cartographic Sciences. She
is a licensed Zumba Basic ,and is working toward her pole instructor, and ACE group instructor
certifications. She works in the environmental field and, in her spare time, is the producer of Twisted
Knickers Burlesque, a troupe that performs throughout the mid-Atlantic region.

She has been venturing into the woods since she could walk. "As I get older, two feet of snow is no
longer fun to hike through. Burlesque and Pole are a terrific way to stay in shape and keep my mind off
cabin fever. A natural goof ball, my goal as an instructor is to lead the class in having a fun, energizing
workout. You'll leave my class with a smile every time."
Georgie holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management from the University of Mississippi
Medical Center, and a masters in Business Administration with a focus in Healthcare from Florida Tech
University.  She is a Registered Health Information Admistrator (RHIA) that currently works as a senior
software consultant. Prior to college and entering the workforce, Georgie had a 14-year history of being a
competition baton twirler.  By the time she was 14 she won 14 State titles and 10 State Grand Champion
titles in USTA Dance Twirl, USTA Strut, two-baton and three-baton.  On the football field she was a feature
twirler and juggled knives for fun!  Throughout adulthood, Georgie found that she missed dancing and
performing since it has always been a large part of her life and who she is.  Georgie took exotic dance
fitness classes a few years ago, but it felt impersonal and kind of “bland” at that particular location.  In
July 2010, she was looking to “spice up” her normal workout routine and found the perfect fit at A Pole
New You.  Georgie started taking classes as a student at PNY in July 2010; in February 2011, she started
teaching chair dancing classes, and beginner pole classes in April 2011.   She is CPR/AED certified, and
attended and will soon be completing the ACE approved and PFA sanctioned Discoveries Pole Dance
Instructor Certification."I believe that exotic fitness is a wonderful and effective way to get in shape and
target any “trouble” areas that we might have as women.  It is my goal as a PNY instructor to help anyone
get in shape and feel better about themselves as well as teach women the proper way to perform pole
dancing moves.  I also think that exotic fitness is a fantastic way to spice up your love life too!  You get to
be fit and sexy at the same time—what could be better?” 
Sue Ann Bacher, a.k.a. “Hoop Diamond” was born and raised in Maryland.  She was always involved in
dance of some kind from the age of 3 years old and up. She is returning to us now after living in Florida
for 13 years, where she began her “hula hooping” career!  Sue wasn’t always able to hula hoop, as a
matter of fact, she NEVER could until just a few short years ago when a friend showed her the proper
technique.  That is just one of the reasons that she has become such an understanding, patient, and
kind instructor.  She says, “If I can, anyone can!”  Sue is the CEO and Founder of Hoop Surround, an
Ambassador of Good Will for World Hoop Day, and a Traveling Hoopnotica® Certified Instructor.  She is a
motivational speaker and she travels all over the world, performing and instructing a form of fitness and
dance that she has come to love.

"I am a pole addict! I live for it.  I'll never stop learning new things.  The pole is a place for me where everything else disappears.
I've played sports, done hair, played instruments and taken college courses.  Teaching pole dancing is by far my favorite hobby
and is really a dream job.  Pole dancing is not only fun and great exercise, but a great stress reliever!  It's a way of self-
expression.  A Pole New You is a place for YOU!  It's ME time or time with friends, and other women who share similar goals,
interests, and love to have fun."  Sunshine prefers platforms when she dances, and her proudest move to learn was the
Superman.  Her pole dancing pet peeve is the bad rep.  She teaches advanced pole dancing.

Mary Ellen - Beginner/Intermediate Pole

Chrissy - Hip Hop Hottie

Brenda - Hula

Vera started dancing when she was a little girl and dance has been her passion ever since.  She started out with Classical
Russian ballet and rhythmic gymnastics and gradually moved towards lyrical, hip hop and contemporary dance.   Vera
discovered belly dance in 2005 and has been fortunate enough to be able to take classes and workshop with many great
instructors in Michigan, Texas and Maryland, as well as perform in various venues.  She has been teaching belly dance for
about a year and loves it.

"It’s amazing how belly dance can change one’s body; make it stronger, slimmer and more flexible, as well as build up a
woman's confidence and sensuality.  My belly dance style can be described as a mix of American Cabaret and Tribal Fusion.
My belly dance icon is Rachel Bryce.  In addition to my ever growing love for belly dance, I am obsessed with yoga and Pilates
and I am thrilled to have an opportunity to bring them to the ladies of A Pole New You.   When I am not dancing or teaching, I
enjoy rollerblading and taking my Chihuahua girl Pumpkin on nice long walks."

unforeseen circumstances, though she has continued to build the course from abroad and will be going

17 years experience teaching health, fitness, aerobics, dance and physical education in the public school
system, where she also designed and implemented the only dance curriculum in Frederick County
allowing high school students to earn a Fine Arts credit through dance.   The curriculum was accepted and
